I looked on the net for answers, and tons of people have this issue. Most people say to install older Xbox One controller drivers, but every link has sent me on a link-to-link adventure I do not have time for.
I spent 7 hours strait trying to get these triggers to work. I saw someone say they needed to install Windows 7 Microsoft Accessories, so I did that and nothing changed. I downloaded the Xbox Accessories App from the store because it said I could configure my controller with it. It told me I was using Bluetooth and made me connect a usb, so I went and bought a usb, clicked Configure and the left and right triggers were not even listed, which obviously made mapping them impossible.
Also, when I connected a usb, it showed a second controller diagram and linked my profile to that one, leaving the original abandoned. This means I would need to use the usb at all times to play. This defeats the purpose of a wireless controller, and since the usb only has a 5-foot cord, that is already out of the question. The strangest part is, when I used Test on the Xbox Accessories app to test my buttons, both triggers were instantly recognized.
When I played a game, the triggers were mapped to the Back and Start buttons. So, the Back and Start buttons are triggers, and the actual triggers are left disabled and unmapped.
How do I remap triggers to the trigger buttons and enable Back and Start? Need to do both since moving the trigger functions from Back and Start to the triggers will either leave them without a function, or leave 2 sets of trigger buttons. How do I roll back to an older Xbox One controller driver version?
According to many people the older drivers still work as intended but I can't find a direct link to any other version. Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Without the Configure option present, I can't load a saved profile with buttons mapped to my bluetooth-connected controller.
Using a usb, I could remap buttons and save the profile. But there are 2 problems with that:. With bluetooth being my connection, Configure cannot be activted, so there would be no option to Load the profile available to me. When I connect usb, the bluetooth connection is not an option anymore disconnecting usb disables functionalitybut it shows 2 controllers available. Also it is interesting to see what happens when I follow the links to my problem in the console section you linked to.
Even if I was playing on console this would certainly not solve my problem or tell me how to remap buttons. The first link you gave me would show me how to remap buttons, but when you consider what I have written, it is clear I already have the Xbox Accessories App installed, know how to use it, and cannot complete the process because it has an impassable wall for those trying to use Configure with bluetooth.
The Configure option does can not be activated if I use bluetooth. Please read this post before submitting. Problem with SmartGlass? Read this.2017 How to replace Xbox One controller Bumper buttons

This is the third controller this has happened to and I took the back panel off of all the controllers and they all look the same and all have the same problem on the same buttons. It would be such a lifesaver to know how to fix this on all of the controllers. Thank you if you reply or have any suggestions! This seems to be some kind of software issue as this happens only on my Windows 10 machine and on some games. For example, the triggers work perfectly fine when playing Rocket League, or when using them on my Xbox One.
When I try, nothing happens. But when I pull both triggers simultaneously, the braking lights of the vehicle light up but still no acceleration.
My controller is connected via USB cable. I have tried different USB ports, without success. I tried this with two different Xbox One controllers, but I have the same issue with both of them.
I have tried to update the controller, via Xbox One, and via device manager, both tell me that there is no update available. I have tried to calibrate my controller, and to reset the controller to default calibration both several times without success, although the calibration recognized the triggers as z-axis. I assume this issue was introduced with one of the latest Windows 10 updates. I played Hitman 2 on 13th and 14th of November, and the triggers worked fine.
On Thursday, the 15th of November, the triggers stopped working in Hitman 2. I have tried to uninstall these updates, but that didn't work either although I'm not sure if I have restarted after uninstalling.
We understand that on your Windows 10 PC, the Xbox One controller in use does not register the left and right triggers. We also understand that this occurs with multiple controllers.
If so, it is suggested to Uninstall both titles, restart the PC, and then install both titles once again. Did this solve your problem? Yes No.
Sorry this didn't help. I tried reinstalling the games. Unfortunately, that didn't help. The games still don't respond to the LT and RT triggers.
I tried a few other games and I can confirm that this issue occurs for Hitman 1, Tabletop Simulator and Payday 2 as well. Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with game response on windows If you are using the Xbox App, corrupted date may cause the app to not work properly. Hi all, I was gaming on my Xbox One S and accidentally dropped the controller. A couple days after that, I started noticing that the left trigger would periodically stop functioning in the game I was playing Apex Legends. I tried to get the trigger to start working again, but it got to the point where the only thing LT will do is say it is being pressed when it's not. I went into Xbox Accessories to try to figure it out, and all it will do is sit on the LT indicator. I disassembled the controller to try to figure it out, but haven't yet.
If someone has this same issue and has a way to fix it, please let me know! I have had my Xbox controller trigger break, I heard plastic rattling around the inside of my Xbox controller.
This controller will become stuck, I think my sweat and other vegetable oils damaged the functionality of that controller.
I recommend buying a new controller. I expect your internal electronics are damaged, that controller works even though it has a problem. I do not know if a controller has a motherboard, internal electronics is my reference to that motherboard of electrical hardware communications.
Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. If the mapping of the controller shows the button permanently pressed in Xbox Accessories then it sounds broken or at fault. If you have disassembled the controller that will unfortunately void the warranty for a possible replacement. May 19, Looking for help to work remotely? Site Feedback. My LB button isn't broke, but very unresponsive. Any tips? Agreeing with this. I used to have trouble with my rb and saw someone say this and thought it was a joke.
It worked and haven't had trouble since. Happened to my elite controller too on the d pad. I read a YouTube comment that said to just blow in it and it works like new again. That happened to me before. You certainly don't need a new 50 dollar controller. It's a pretty easy and much cheaper fix.
Siriously, this works, put your mouth over it and blow hard like you would an old cartridge.
Sync button stuck on XBOX 1S controller!
This removes dust buildup, worked for my old Armed Forces controller which I use as my main controlloer. I agree. The One controller is superior to the Xbox controller in every way except its shoulder buttons.
They should not self destruct the way they tend to. I would say take it apart with the idea that you may need to buy another one anyway. See if there's anything under the LB button. Watch a YouTube video to see how to properly take it apart. If you can, open the controller and apply a little bit of WD on the electronic button. WD is amazing to clean electronic components. If you can use a screwdriver its fixable or send it back if under warranty.
EBay has super cheap repair parts. Try spraying some canned air around the edge of the button. It may just be a bit of dust keeping the button from completing the circuit. If you decide to just buy a new controller, chances are you could sell yours to someone willing to take it apart and fix it. You may not get a ton of cash for it, but it beats throwing it away. On one it was actually fucked up but the other one i was able to use a knife to pry it back in place.

Unepic Store Page. Global Achievements. When calibrating the xbox one controller, the test grid shows lt and rt as being pressed when they are not, so you can not finish the calibration. You can get past this screen, but then for some reason it still randomly hits left and right some times.
Devs any word on fixing this? I have put a hour into the game and I love it so far, but I am going to hold of recommending and playing the rest of the game until a fix is made.
Showing 1 - 2 of 2 comments. I just found this solution. When you are calibrating the buttons, first press the button to calibrate, then hold the triggers exactly at halfway. Repeat with all buttons. Be careful when you are calibrating the triggers. It works for me. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 31 Jan, pm.

All three controllers have had left triggers that feel like they're grinding against something inside. After some fiddling around, I found 3 contact spots where the trigger came into contact with the shell where I presume it wasn't intended too. The trigger actually touched the plastic beside the foam, before touching the small foam pad. After filing these pieces away a little, the trigger responds much better, and more so like right trigger.
As far as I can tell, the trigger button is slightly twisted more that the right trigger, which causes it to contact the shell where it's not suppose to. Sorry in advanced, I'm only posting this here because hardware forums seem to have vanished and it's difficult to find a way to contact Microsoft.
I'm just hoping someone sees this. Just confirming I have a similar issue with my Day One controller. The left shoulder button is very stiff more than the right and every depression will leave it stuck in the depressed state.
I have to push the button away from the face to get it to release. Not very useful for gaming. I'll give it a few days to see if it loosens up, otherwise I guess I'll try to get a replacement. I had issues getting connected the first night, but not since. XB1 keeps throwing network related errors when messing with avatars, etc. Did this solve your problem?
